About the trail

From the Encumeada pass, this circular route follows old levada channels through the rocky Pináculo and into the mist-soaked laurel forest of the Folhadal. Several hand-cut tunnels require a torch; the trail rewards walkers with sweeping ridge views before looping back to the start.
